Technology Is the Starting Point
A torque-balanced head can still be the wrong complete putter
L.A.B. Golf designs the head to reduce the torque that encourages the face to rotate during the stroke. The golfer still has to aim, organise the movement, judge pace and strike the ball. If the build changes posture, distorts the visual picture or feels disconnected from the golfer's tempo, the engineering has not been matched fully to the person using it.
Shape and aim
Head shape, shaft position and alignment markings change the picture presented to the eyes. A shape that looks reassuring to one golfer may create aim uncertainty for another.
Sound and ball speed
Face construction and strike sensation influence the golfer's experience of energy transfer. Some players organise pace more naturally from a firmer, faster response; others need a softer one.
Balance and tempo
Head-weight preference, shaft response and grip shape influence awareness of the putter, muscular tone and timing. The correct choice should make the whole club easier to locate and release.
The golfer's response is evidence. A specification is not correct merely because it looks conventional or produces one attractive data set. The selected build should make sense biomechanically, visually and perceptually to the individual golfer.

Choose by uncertainty, not by ambition. A highly skilled golfer who already knows the model and response they need may require only the Basic Fitting. A newer golfer with several unresolved preferences may benefit from the Advanced route.

The Advanced Fitting can bring together motion, ball-roll and human-response evidence. Technology is selected only when it can separate the equipment variables that matter to the decision.
L.A.B. fitting system: establish the geometry
The fitting putter and natural setup help establish a functional length and lie angle without forcing the golfer into a prescribed eye position or manufactured posture.
SAM PuttLab: examine putter delivery
Where necessary, aim, face and path behaviour, strike, rotation, timing and rhythm can show whether a build changes the way the golfer organises the putter.
TrackMan Putt: examine ball response
Launch direction, ball speed, skid, roll and distance can help distinguish a preferred sensation from the ball behaviour it actually produces.
Golfer response: understand what the numbers cannot
Visual comfort, sound, head awareness, grip pressure, tempo and confidence in the intended pace complete the evidence. A putter must be usable by a person, not only successful in a report.
Choose the Presentation, Not Just the Technology
Every L.A.B. model shares a principle, but not the same experience
The current and legacy L.A.B. families offer different sizes, shaft positions, alignment pictures, face responses and levels of head awareness. The correct question is not which model is universally best; it is which complete design allows you to aim and control pace most naturally.
High-stability mallets
DF-family designs provide a distinctive central visual picture and substantial stability. Their shape can feel exceptionally clear to one golfer and visually dominant to another.
Compact mallets
OZ and MEZZ families place Lie Angle Balance into more compact profiles, with different face constructions, sound, ball-speed response and alignment options.
Blade-style heads
LINK-family putters provide a more familiar blade presentation while retaining L.A.B. principles. Familiar appearance does not automatically mean familiar aim or feel.
Alternative builds
Standard, ArmLock and long-putter builds create different geometry and weight requirements. They should be considered only when they match how the golfer genuinely wants to putt.

Putter fitting and putting coaching are different services
A fitting asks which L.A.B. model and build best support the golfer. Putting coaching asks why performance behaves as it does and what the golfer should develop. Equipment can influence performance, but it should not be asked to explain every miss.
Choose L.A.B. fitting when…
You are considering a L.A.B. putter, want to replace or refine an existing L.A.B. build, or need formal comparison of length, lie, model, grip, shaft, head weight and visual presentation.
Choose putting coaching when…
Your main concern is start line, strike, roll, pace control, green reading, perception, pressure behaviour or the way putting changes from practice to the course.
Explore advanced putting coachingA new putter is not a coaching plan. If the equipment is genuinely mismatched, fitting removes that source of friction. The golfer must still learn to aim, organise pace, respond to consequence and use the putter on real greens.

Which L.A.B. fitting should I choose?
Choose the 25-minute Basic Fitting when you already use L.A.B. Golf, have largely chosen the model or mainly need length and lie confirmed. Choose the 90-minute Advanced Fitting when model, aim, feel, speed, grip, shaft or head-weight response still needs comparative investigation.
Is L.A.B. putter fitting the same as putting coaching?
No. Fitting selects equipment and a build specification. Putting coaching investigates and develops stroke, strike, roll, pace, green reading, perception and performance under pressure. If your main question is how you putt rather than which putter to order, choose advanced putting coaching.
What does Lie Angle Balance do?
Lie Angle Balance is designed to reduce the torque that encourages a conventional putter face to rotate during the stroke. It does not remove the need to aim, judge pace or strike the ball well, and it still depends on selecting a build that suits the golfer.
Will every current L.A.B. Golf model be available to test?
The L.A.B. range changes and exact studio fitting stock can vary. The fitting compares the relevant models and specifications available for the appointment. If one particular current or legacy model is essential to your decision, contact Chris before booking to confirm availability.
Do SAM PuttLab and TrackMan Putt decide the specification?
No. They provide evidence about putter delivery, strike and ball behaviour when the Advanced Fitting requires it. The final decision also considers posture, aim, visual presentation, tempo, sound, feel and the golfer's response to the complete club.
What should I bring to the fitting?
Bring your current putter and the shoes you normally wear to play golf. If you already own a L.A.B. putter, bring it even if the fit feels wrong. Do not change your normal setup or stroke simply to prepare for the appointment.
How does the fitting-fee credit work?
The £35 Basic Fitting fee is credited toward a putter purchase. The Advanced Fitting fee is £135, with £45 credited toward purchase. The booking page shows the current service and price before payment.

The fitting takes place by appointment at Chris Brook's private performance studio at Parley Golf Centre, Parley Green Lane, Hurn, Christchurch, Dorset, BH23 6BB.
